Version 9.4 Upgrades

Introducing the Open Text Fax Server (RightFax), version 9.4!

Activation Process/Overview
This new model allows customers to activate Open Text Fax Server through the server itself with no phone call to technical support! With this new activation model, customers will have a greater control over their system maintenance and overall have a faster installation or upgrade experience due to a much shorter activation process.

Why should you upgrade to version 9.4? 
There are new increased capabilities with v9.4 including improved security, extended email functionality, better reporting and auditing, new web access functionality, and enhanced disaster recovery!

1. Enhanced Reporting and Auditing
- A new application in the suite of Fax Server 9.4 called Enterprise Fax Reporter replaces the legacy Fax Reporter Program
- New Enterprise Fax Reporter comes with several pre-configured reports
- A new auditing report provides the following information:
A.) User and group creation date/time
B.) User and group creator (UserID and UserName)
C.) User and group modification date/time
D.) Who modified a user or group object (UserID and UserName)
E.) User and group deletion date/time
F.) Who deleted a user or group object (UserID and UserName)

2. SQL Service Account
- Improvements to the Fax Server 9.4 SQL connection string editor provides a simple and convenient tool for modifying the SQL connection string
- New enhanced database authentication method 
- Windows or SQL authentication
- More efficient use of time and resources managing Fax Server 9.4 systems and their interaction with SQL databases

3. Updated Server and System Support
 - 64-bit operating system support for Fax Server 9.4 32-bit client applications
 - Windows Server 2008 + SQL Server 2008 Support
 - Active Directory 2008 support
 - VMware ESX server support

4. Enhanced Email Gateway Functionality
- The Microsoft Exchange, GroupWise, Lotus Notes, and SMTP gateways include an option to include an image of the fax with e-mail notifications. When enabled, this option will send a copy of either the first page or all the pages of a fax sent within an outbound fax notification.

5. Web Access Functionality Improvements
- Improved automatic language selection
-Improved accessibility and usability for non-English speakers
- New inbox sorting and filtering (custom views)
- Fax server 9.4 users can now save custom filters (views) that they have created so they can be used again
